Time to relaaaax

Posted on Oct 27th, 2008 by Natasha

Hey everyone,

Midterms are finally over for me! So I'm glad that stress is lifted off my shoulders, whew!

It's been tiring, but very eventful, for these last several weeks. A lot's been going on. On October 11, I participated in the run for breast cancer awareness right in New Orleans. The turnout was great! There was a lot of people and it was really fun. Tons of people showed up and we had a lot more sponsors than anticipated.

Last weekend, I volunteered at a Children's Center located uptown in new orleans. They had a halloween party going on and needed chaperones! Anyway, it was great and the kids loved the treat or treating plus all the fun activities that were set up.

I'm so excited about Halloween myself! There's a lot of parties and events going on. Later on this week, I'm going to one of the haunted houses here in New Orleans, the Mortuary. It's rated one of the scariest in America by the Discovery Channel! I had no idea until a friend showed me the flyer and that didn't make me feel any better about going! But I'm sure it'll be fun, since I'm going with a lot of friends.

Happy Halloween everyone!

Hi Gaia!

Posted on Oct 1st, 2008 by Natasha

My name's Natasha and I'm new to Gaia. I'd like to take the time to introduce myself to the rest of the community!

I'm 20 years old and currently a student at Loyola University of New Orleans. I'm a business administration and management major with an art minor. Although my official status with art is a minor, I've made the decision to pursue a double major.

My interests include art, fashion, reading, and participating in community events. I love drawing, painting, and doing calligraphy. So I do that in my spare time. My love of art also extends toward my interest in fashion. My dad used to design for Betsey Johnson and a local company in Dallas called Bentley Buckle, so I guess that's where I get it from! Though I spend a lot of my spare time doing art, I also like to read and contribute in my community's events.

I'm originally from Dallas, but now I live in New Orleans. It's such a great community, and I love the culture. It's great to be in a place with deep roots as well as a captivating history. Plus, New Orleanian food is also amazing.

Anyway, I'm here hoping to contribute to Gaia's mission and make a difference in our world!
